Snelling Staffing is looking for a Quality Manager for a client in Massillon, OH

Summary/Objective

The Quality Managers responsibilities are to oversee and manage all aspects of quality assurance and quality control within our organization. They are responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining quality management systems, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements. They will play a key role in setting quality objectives and targets, monitoring quality performance metrics, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the QA team to ensure high standards are met across all production processes.
  • Provide support to the production team for troubleshooting and process optimization.
  • Spearhead continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, cost reduction, and enhanced equipment utilization.
  • Conduct tests and monitor key process variables throughout production stages to ensure optimal performance and control.
  • Develop, implement, and ensure compliance with ISO / IATF Quality Standards, while assisting with both internal and external audits.
  • Lead training efforts to ensure team members are equipped with the necessary tools, techniques, and quality programs to drive product improvements.
  • Support production teams through data analysis, KPI monitoring, and reporting.
  • Develop and implement control plans and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) processes.
  • Proactively address recurring quality issues, driving improvements to minimize batch failures, reworks, and corrective actions (both internal and external).
  • Utilize Six Sigma methodologies and tools to foster continuous improvement within all areas of the quality function.
  • Analyze PLC data related to quality metrics to drive improvements in production processes.
  • Directly manage customer visits/audits and be the team leader for customer claims management and resolution. Work closely with Purchasing to establish quality requirements for external suppliers.
  • Should liaise with external vendors, contractors, or suppliers to ensure that their products or services meet the organization’s quality standards.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Manufacturing teams to develop strategies that improve product and process quality, as well as new business opportunities.
  • Partner with Engineering, Operations and Customer Service to successfully launch new programs by identifying and mitigating quality risks up front during PPAP and new product qualification process.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business Administration preferred.
  • Quality certification, such as ASQ, is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing quality operations.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing quality management role.
  • Strong knowledge of total quality management principles, IATF and ISO preferred.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced, and evolving work environment.
  • Highly committed, self-motivated, and proactive.
  • Strong attention to detail, with a focus on accuracy and follow-through on commitments and responsibilities.
  • Collaborative management style with the ability to effectively engage with employees at all levels.
  • Experience in quality trend analysis and the development of corrective actions.
  • Proficiency in Six Sigma methodologies, with a Green Belt certification preferred.
  • Proficient with Excel, PowerPoint, Word and other standard computer applications
