JOB DESCRIPTION
Hirequest Health /Snelling Staffing is hiring for Certified Medical Assistant to work in Canton/Massillon Area.
- Weekly pay
- Starting Pay rate of $17.00- $19.00 based on years of experience
- Schedule will be Monday – Friday between the hours of 7:00 am – 5:00 pm
- Must be able to pass a drug test and background check
SUMMARY:
In an outpatient clinical setting; assists with direct patient care, and performs specialized medical procedures of a routine nature, as dictated by established clinical protocol. CMA may also provide initial triage, registration, and administrative services as needed. In addition, the CMA is also responsible for implementing, maintaining, and educating staff members on OSHA, CLIA, and Safety.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assists with direct patient care procedures and related tasks; checks in patients, assists in obtaining patient histories, takes vital signs, prepares charts, and assists with medical examinations.
2. Performs routine specialized procedures such as EKG, FBS, suture/staple removal, ear irrigation, nebulizer treatments, and sterile dressing changes etal.
3. Maintains inventories and stocks medicines, vaccines, immunizations and medical supplies as necessary.
4. Maintains knowledge and expertise pertaining to OSHA and CLIA standards.
5. Develops and maintains an effective and informative training program for all staff members on OSHA, CLIA, Biohazard Waste, and Safety.
6. Records/Monitors refrigerator temperature and controls on all lab equipment/tests.
7. Interviews and reviews patients for financial status, as appropriate.
8. Educates and advises patients on specified medical issues as directed by the provider.
9. Performs patient education and discharge instructions.
10. Completes referrals and schedules tests for patients.
11. Retrieves lab reports and tests from other health care providers.
12. Assists the clinical coordinator with additional tasks.
13. Schedules and monitors patient appointments; may coordinate routine office activities and administrative functions in support of unit activities.
14. Practices safety, environmental, and/or infection control methods.
15. May recruit patients for studies and may participate in outreach clinical activities as required.
16. Actively participates in the Quality Improvement Program and on other committees as needed.
17. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties at various locations as assigned.
18. Do prior- authorizations, phone messages, and special projects.

20. Duties may change without notice to meet the needs of the Health Center.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
1. Medical Assistant Certificate
2. State Certification within 6 months of hire date.
3. At least 2 years’ experience office based preferred.
4. Prior experience with OSHA, CLIA, Safety, and Immunizations highly preferred.
5. BLS certification within 90 days of employment.
6. Must have and maintain vehicle insurance.
7. Must be vaccinated for COVID-19
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
1. Development, Communication and Organizational skills.
2. Ability to perform standard clinical procedures according to established protocols.
3. Ability to perform routine invasive procedures, such as EKG, FBS, suture/staple removal, ear irrigation, and nebulizer treatments etal.
4. Knowledge of patient evaluation and triage procedures.
5. Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards.
6. Knowledge of inventory management practices.
7. Ability to maintain calendars and schedule appointments.
8. Knowledge of patient care charts and patient histories.
9. Knowledge of outpatient clinical administrative procedures.
10. The ability to distinguish letters and symbols as well as the ability to utilize telephones, computer terminals, fax machines, and copiers is required.
11. Knowledge of related accreditation and certification requirements.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
1. Must be willing to submit to post offer, pre-employment physical examination/medical history check if requested.
2. Must be willing to travel to all locations.
3. Lifecare Family Health will provide Hepatitis A/B vaccinations; candidate may decline vaccinations in writing or may provide record of vaccination from previous employer.
4. A pre-employment background investigation may be required.
